RSVP

Ok, I admit it - I am dying to know who is coming and who is not - to my party next week. I sent out invitations and asked for RSVPs. I sent out reminders to those failing to answer. Now, I know, and you don't have to remind me, that people have the choice as to whether to respond or not.

But, I say, whatever happened to common courtesy? Social etiquette? Why not let your hostess know whether to expect you or not so she can plan the food, chairs, etc.?
